Locally Sourced Mulch and Eco-Friendly Dyes
At Tree Works, we take pride in our sustainable, locally-produced mulch. Every bag or bulk order goes through our meticulous 4-step process to ensure the highest quality product for your landscaping needs.
Sourcing the Trees
Locally harvested from utility right-of-way clearing, residential tree removals, and building lot clearing for land development.
Aging the Wood Fibre
Wood fibre is brought back to the Tree Works facility and aged naturally for two years. This process allows decomposition to begin, turning the fibre into a rich nutrient provider.
Grinding to Specification
The aged wood fibre is reground through a commercial grinder to meet market specifications, producing mulch pieces approximately 2 inches in size.
Dye Application
For dyed mulch, the 2-inch mulch is treated with an eco-friendly colorant and left to stand for one week, allowing the color to absorb naturally at a microscopic level through osmosis.
